Alexis Minerals has received latest drilling results from the Bonanza zone of the Lac Herbin mine, which is located 10 km northeast of Val-d'Or in Quebec. The focus of the exploration work that commenced in the fourth quarter of 2010 was on the three prospective zones, namely Apex, FL and Bonanza zones near the mine infrastructure.
The latest drill program has focused on in-fill drilling at the envelop of the inferred resource and zone extension in the open directions. Alexis has intersected 18.39 g/t gold over 1.5 m in the hole LH01-369, 14.19 g/t gold over 1.9 m in the hole AMAR-156 and 12.24 g/t gold over 2.6 m in the hole LH01-367.
The CEO and President of the company, has commented that the drilling work performed at the inferred resource of the Bonanza zone is showing its potential results to authenticate the grade in-line and structure associated with Lac Herbin mine’s other zones. The company is going on with development that was not included in the original mine plan. This development will provide the permission to the east part, in which a further exploration target will be analyzed. Alexis is opening new zones like Bonanza, which is a part of the resource base re-establishment process for the mine operations in the future. The mine exploration program of the company is ongoing at the nearby zones like the FL and the Apex zones.
