Indochine Mining has encountered gold mineralization from the initial hole of a drilling program across a broad interval at the Kratie North project, central Cambodia.
The primary results have reported 0.3 g/t gold extending over 200 m, including 0.5 - 2.6 g/t gold at several 1-2 m intervals. The company is expecting additional results at the earliest.
Recently, the company completed the maiden 16-hole program, 2216 m of diamond drill core in total over three key target areas at Kratie North. It has intersected 1.1 g/t gold over 8 m, 1 g/t gold over 9 m from the hole KOC001 and 0.3 g/t gold over 200 m at the end of the hole.
Indochine has intercepted pyrrhotite and pyrite mineralization in the initial hole and in five additional holes over 400 m lateral distance at the key target that was discovered by a gold-in-soil geochemical and geophysical (IP) anomaly.
Partially altered intrusives and sediments hosting the mineralization show a prospective distributed target of gold or gold-copper sulphide.
Two further targets were examined with 10 drill holes sited along the geophysical trends connected with gold-bearing quartz layers at the surface. The drill core results are pending.
The re-assaying results from a huge stream sediment sampling program at Ratanakiri, in northern Cambodia, will conduct the exploration program at the most excellent targets of gold and copper. No systematic current exploration was executed formerly in the Ratanakiri region.
Though the area is popular for hosting numerous outstanding gold and copper deposits, Cambodia has been subjected to partial and new exploration till now. Indochine has the main gold and copper lease package in Cambodia, across more than 4000 km2.
