Alta Mining Commences Exploration Program at SGH Property

Alta Mining, a subsidiary of Fortune Oil and Gas, has begun the 2011 exploration campaign at the SGH property, which is situated in Slocan, Canada.

The project includes mineral claims of more than 1000 ha that is sited in Slocan’s renowned mining district connected with excellent silver structures. The property’s preliminary work comprised compiling all the former exploration work and available geological data into a geo-analytical and mapping database for the property’s comprehensive study.

The present exploration phase includes mineralized zones that host noteworthy systems of silver mineralization found during the past exploration. Previous discoveries are outlined and well mapped, which provide a good starting for the field exploration campaign. The company is not treating the past discoveries as the present mineral resources, which cannot be relied upon. The exploration will reject the option to outline the latest vein system discovery in the main mineralized structures, or sub paralleling the mineralized structures as formations that have an aim to be uncovered naturally.

Alta is prepared to perform a field program, which is not restricted to mapping, prospecting, wide soil sampling, rock chip and follow-up trenching sampling. The primary focus of the prospecting and geological campaigns will be to revalidate the previously defined discoveries at the property and formulate the findings amenable with the NI 43-101 report. Alta is expecting that the further targets will be extended by means of the ground work. The subsequent exploration phase would comprise additional work at these targets.

The management of Alta Mining has commented that the company is hopeful that this phase of exploration will substantiate the presence of the silver bearing mineralization, which calls for a recent wide exploration structured to additionally expose the complete prospective of the property. The company has enough capital to complete the work.
