NuLegacy Gold has begun drilling at the Coal Canyon as part of its current 10,500 m drilling campaign at its Red Hill prospect.
The company has planned to drill the hole RHCC11-001 to a depth of 500 m at the Coal Canyon. The target of this initial hole was to follow-up the previous hole, which yielded 0.39 g/t gold over 10 ft. The location of this hole is in the extensive silica cemented breccia zone that includes good sooty pyrite, hosting gold mineralization in the productive middle Hansen Creek structure. The drill location is approximately 125 m to the western part of the former hole located at the intersection of the west-north-west and north-south trending fault zone, above which the arsenic and gold soil anomaly is present. This Coal Canyon is a section of the Red Hill prospect and is a part of Miranda Gold.
The Red Hill prospect of NuLegacy includes the Battle Mountain-Eureka Gold Trend’s Cortez section. The Cortez segment has a length of 25+ mi and breadth of 3+ mi and is west-northwest arrangement of huge sediment-hosted and bulk-mineable gold deposits. This segment contains a pipeline complex, the Cortez Hills gold mines, the Cortez and the present ET Blue-Lower Horse Canyon gold discovery.
Barrick Gold owns all these gold deposits, which have 40+ Moz of combined gold reserves and has produced more than 10 Moz of gold. The Red Hill prospect includes four properties having identical geology like the en echelon gold deposits and is 7, 15 and 21 mi southeast part of ET Blue-Lower Horse Canyon discovery, Cortez Hills and pipeline complex respectively.
