Alexis Minerals has released its West Toots drilling program results from the Main Mine property situated in Snow Lake, Manitoba. The location of Toots West zone is at the western boundary of the Main Mine property’s underground infrastructure.
The company commenced this West Toots drilling to reinforce the expected beginning of the Snow Lake mine by developing the resource envelope size near the mine infrastructure.
The focus on this drilling program is to continue the description of mineralized zone’s hanging wall segment. Even if the average mineralization grades are lesser than the reserve average, it is over or near the cut off grade of 1.9 g/t gold having a gold value of $1,149 in the feasibility study, which was being prepared for the Snow Lake mine property. More significantly, these drilling results permitted the company to deduce the continuity of the strike and down dip of the Toots West formation to the easterly dipping McLeod Road Thrust that outlines the boundary of the West Toots structure. Most of these new holes is located external to the present resource envelope, but speculates on extension of the structure.
The CEO and President of the company, François Perron has stated that the Snow Lake project is approaching the construction the initial focus of the company is to advance the understanding of the upper part of the main mine. The present results have considerably enhanced the confidence in this specific region of the upper main mine, where resources had been confined due to lack of data. Currently, the near-mine exploration campaign will focus at the Upper Toots whereas the regional drilling program is examining the Birch and Caper zones.
