Orsu Metals has completed the infill drilling program on time, as a part of the current definitive feasibility study (DFS), at its Karchiga volcanogenic massive sulphide copper deposit located in East Kazakhstan.
This infill program includes drilling of 1,786 m at the central oxide and a further drilling of 2,278 m at the North East sulphide of the Karchiga project.
The company is anticipating the receipt of the final assay results during September 2011. Subsequently, Orsu will conduct fresh reserve optimization and resource modeling. It is also expecting the incorporation of the oxide mineralization found during the feasibility study, which is likely to be finished during November 2011.
Orsu’s Executive Chairman has stated that that company is elated to complete a further infill drill campaign at the Karchiga project as per schedule. The company is expecting positive results that will bring in extra financial value to the project. It is anticipating that the Karchiga Central Oxide material’s addition into the study will enhance the net current value of the project, if there is an incorporation of a considerable quantity of Central Oxide copper in the deposit’s economy. Orsu’s further infill program at the Karchiga North East Sulphide is likely to modify the sulphide mineralization between 0.5 Mt and 1 Mt from the inferred to the indicated mineral resource, which may possibly lengthen the mine’s life and maximize the designs of the pit. There will be a significant bearing on the financing of Karchiga project’s construction phase due to these factors.
