Platinex has announced the ongoing development of the rock and till sampling campaign at the Shining Tree property in Ontario. Based on the positive basal till sampling campaign during 2008-2011, the company has sampled the targets to the inferred source by employing the fine fraction of tills that were examined for gold and other elements.
At present, the company has used a powered mini-excavator to gather the basal till present at the bedrock border, showing the source material located nearby. Additionally, it has compiled, logged and examined the bedrock chips at the same sites. Platinex has completed the sampling of approximately 9 km of lines at 25-50 m intervals, which integrates more than 152 sample points, and also focused on further 125 sample points to be completed by September end.
Two gold in till dispersion target areas have been identified by primary analysis of 43 samples, with values including 0.37 and 0.40 g/t gold calculated from the basal till’s fine fraction. A third anomalous gold target has been associated with local cobalt, copper, nickel and silver anomalies, found by means of multi-element analysis. Platinex has encountered up to 0.48 g/t gold from the bedrock chip samples. It has accumulated the till samples from all the target locations for further gold grain counts.
Platinex’s CEO and President, has stated that the company is elated with the till sample results as they offer additional indication for the potential of the Shining Tree property housing a considerable gold resource and shows excellent targets for drilling in future. Platinex will trace gold sources rapidly by utilizing a sampling excavator and direct testing of the till fine fractions.
