Platinex has announced additional development in the ongoing till sampling campaign in Shining Tree, Ontario. Six further gold in till dispersion targets have been outlined from the new assays obtained from the basal till fine fraction, including up to 0.42 g/t gold.
The CEO and President of Platinex, has stated that the company has been motivated by the prospect of finding and locating the sources of the gold grain counts in till. The clear spatial association of two huge anomalous gold in till along with prominent geophysical anomalies and geological formations has shown that the company is in line with this goal.
The company altered the process of sample compilation and handling, following the positive 2008-2011 basal till sampling campaign. It has completed sampling of more than 14 km of lines at 25-50 m intervals that included 251 sample points, by means of a powered mini-excavator, since July 1, 2011. Platinex sifted a small hole of every basal till sample to minus 100 mesh and SGS Laboratories in Ontario tested using Fire Assay method. It has logged and examined the bedrock chips that were gathered at the same site.
Platinex sent 21 bulk basal till samples, that were received from the ongoing campaign, to Overburden Drilling Management (ODM), Ottawa for gold grain counts and yielded positive results. Currently, the company has gathered 512 till samples totally from the Shining Tree property in order to outline anomalous gold grain count sources in till. It has focused on 60 more high important samples for compilation and will be sent to ODM for main gold grain counts.
