NQ Exploration has announced that its partner Murray Brook Minerals (MBM) is prepared for the commencement of the initial field work at the Duncan Ouest project. This work is performed under the agreement terms, in which MBM can obtain a 50% interest in the project.
A minimum of $1,400,000 should be spent by MBM for more than three years to obtain the interest. This initial field work will include sampling and mapping program, with other work required for the starting of the subsequent work phase. MBM has planned to fund $50,000 for this phase I exploration work.
The location of this Duncan project is around 35 km to the southern part of the town of Radisson and in Quebec’s James Bay territory. This property comprises 139 map-designated claim areas that are separated into two blocks, covering an area of 71.17 sq. km total.
The geological prospecting and reconnaissance work performed during 2008 summer has drawn the attention of the company’s geologists and this work has encountered a sericite carbonate schist, which has yielded anomalous grades of 3.45 g/t gold, 1.4 g/t silver and 381 ppm zinc and 4.6% of copper as grab sample. During the groundwork, a favourable setting has been shown by the geophysical, geological and geochemical information for the identification of orogenic-type gold deposits and volcanogenic zinc-copper mineralization.
