Radisson Mining Resources will commence surface exploration drilling in October at its O'Brien-Kewagama gold project, which is situated in the Abitibi Gold Belt’s Malartic-Cadillac part that includes 36 claims across the productive Cadillac Break over 3 km strike length.
The location of this project is around 5 km to the western part of and on strike from the Lapa gold mine and about 4 km to the southeast of Laronde mine, which currently exceeds a depth of 3000 m.
The company completed reinterpretation and re-analysis of the previous exploration results from the project and conducted a diamond drilling campaign, which resulted in a fresh discovery at the project’s main unexplored east section.
Radisson has intersected 32.3 g/t gold over 7.3 m, 3.57 g/t gold over 6.8 m, 3.37 g/t gold over 8.6 m and 12.8 g/t gold over 2.25 m.
The plan of the current program is to follow up the exploration campaign during 2011, to classify the inferred resource and possibly raise the total resources, through resource definition drilling at zone 36 and to discover the project’s areas of interest, which includes the mineralized iron structure and the mineralized porphyry interfering bodies located in the Pontiac sediments and mine the Cadillac group towards the north.
These resources that are defined over the 650 m level, are situated over 800 m to the eastern part of the previous O'Brien mine works and signify a fresh high-grade mineralized discovery of the similar type explored and formed at the O'Brien mine. These resources are present in zone 36.
The company will employ underground access to validate and bulk sample zone 36, to identify any fresh gold zones, and perform the required metallurgical feasibility studies and mining.
Radisson is currently performing primary engineering and permitting work. It is scheduling for a 10,000 m surface drilling campaign and is expecting to commence in October.
