Abzu Gold has discovered a fresh mineralized zone at its Asafo concession, which is situated along Kibi Belt’s east boundary in Ghana. The company has identified this new zone in the drill hole ASDD08, returning 4.72 g/t gold over 20.00 m.
The phase I drilling at Asafo examined the wide portions of gold in soil geochemical anomaly that is concurrent with positive structures or lithologies, VTEM geophysical and magnetic anomalies. The company drilled the holes during the present program and the spacing of the holes was around 200 m apart. These holes yielded several anomalous gold mineralization intervals, which includes 0.39 g/t gold over 72.30 m, and encountered high-grade intercepts that ranges from more than 5.00 g/t up to 62.20 g/t of gold over 1.1 m in the drill hole ASDD08.
Gold-bearing cuts are connected with veins of carbonate-quartz, tourmaline and arsenopyrite, along with carbonate, chlorite and sericite alteration. Mineralized gold is present in diorite and felsic dikes, which interrupt the clipped siltstone and phyllite country rocks. This new Asafo discovery’s location is identical to the other clip zone-hosted gold deposits all through Ghana especially those along the Ashanti Belt’s west border.
The company has currently encountered anomalous gold mineralization over 1,100 m strike, whose thickness is from 100 to 300 m. These holes have examined the gold in soil anomaly of around 30%, which are more than 1,500 m towards the southwest and 500 m towards the northeast part. Abzu has to analyze the remaining anomaly in target 1.
