NV Gold has announced the drill results of the 2,560 m reverse circulation drilling, follow-up 23-hole, conducted at its Afgan-Kobeh gold project in Nevada.
The company has returned 6.735 g/t gold over 9.1 m, 4.049 g/t gold over 16.8 m in the hole 11-22, which is situated at the northeast border of the NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate of 55,000 oz gold in inferred resources and 66,000 oz gold in indicated resources, by means of a cut-off 0.006 oz/t gold. This hole 11-22 has shown that the resource stays exposed towards the east.
The aim of the 2011 follow-up program comprised step-out and infill drilling at the Afgan resource region and analyzing of fresh Kobeh targets. The company drilled 2,560 m and sent the samples to ALS Chemex in Nevada for assaying. Drilling at Afgan yielded good results, as well as a very positive intercept in the drill hole 11-22. NV Gold completed 10 drill holes in the project’s north part, in the Roberts Gold lease region and did not cut any considerable mineralization. It drilled two holes in the Kobeh region, which is located in the Afgan mineral resource’s southern part. Anomalous gold was found in those holes and guarantees for follow-up drilling along with upcoming drill program.
The company drilled nine holes out of 13 in the Afgan region and cut mineralization that are possibly cost-effective. It has intersected a broad mineralization zone in the hole 11-22, which stays exposed to the east. The drilling campaign has been designed using the data obtained from early exploration and three dimensional computer modeling.
This project is a Carlin-type gold system with two adjacent lands of more than 4,250 A area. 109 unpatented claim groups enclosing around 2,180 A and 104 unpatented claim groups enclosing about 2,080 A of area leased by NV Gold are included in this land block.
The prospective of this project is improved by its position near the southeast part of the Cortez trend. The location of this project is between Barrick Gold’s Archimedes gold mine and the Gold Bar deposit.
