Balmoral Resources Reports Additional Drilling Results from Martiniere West Gold Zone

Balmoral Resources has announced further results from expansion drilling campaign conducted at the Martiniere west gold zone. The company intersected 44.97 g/t gold over 2.33 m in the MDW-11-30, 9.30 g/t gold over 2.99 m and 0.73 g/t gold over 108.50 m in the MDW-11-34 from the Martiniere west zone.

The reported drilling results are from the expansion drill program performed along the Martiniere west zone’s western expansion.

Currently, the Martiniere west zone has been cut along strike for around 300 m and doubles the formerly authenticated zone’s strike length. Two significant holes are seen on the western part. The company is waiting for the results from further seven holes drilled along the Martiniere west zone’s eastern expansion.

The company is continually drilling to cut several gold mineralized formations in the footwall and hanging wall at the west zone’s high-grade core. These structures have a fresh, deep footwall intercept in the hole MDW-11-29, which encountered 0.82 g/t gold over 24.03 m down hole. Two additional holes from the previous and current campaigns examine this region, which is located to the southern part of the West zone’s core. The length of the fresh deep footwall discovery is 172 m to the down hole from the hole MDW-11-29, yielding 25.47 g/t gold over 1.77 m.

Balmoral has blocked the drill program temporarily at Martiniere West due to freezing and will restart, once the conditions permit in 2012.

The Martiniere property belongs to the Balmoral’s Detour gold trend project that expands for 82 km along the Detour-Sunday Lake deformation zone, Quebec. Besides the gold discoveries at Martiniere, the project contains the shallow Rambo and Lynx gold zones at the Detour East property, the new Grasset gold discovery, and the Fenelon gold zone.

Balmoral drilled at the Detour East property, situated near the Detour Gold mine development project in Ontario.
