Goldex Resources has reported the sampled assay results from the El Cerrito portion, which is located in El Pato property in Guatemala. The company took samples as part of the current geological work at the property during the 2011 summer and fall.
The company gathered the samples from the trenches present in the El Cerrito zone, where the vein’s strike length through the zone runs to around 400 m. The samples have shown high-grade mineralization of the anticipated style. The sampled mineralized intervals of thickness up to 5.1 have sporadically open quartz veins of up to 2.0 m, grading up to 81.9 g/t of gold, and mineralized wall rock, grading up to 23.3 g/t gold.
Goldex’s geologist, Edward Wells collected 78 channel samples within the zone from the adjacent wall rock and the vein. The company intersected channel samples vertically across the vein formation. Inspectorate Laboratory in Nevada examined these samples for gold.
The company sent seven channel samples out of the 78 to Kappes, Cassiday and Associates (KCA) in Nevada for further metallurgical testing program using the flotation process.
Inspectorate Labs in Nevada conducted the gold by fire assay and an AA finish and announced the results. The location of the El Pato project is in southeast Guatemala, which is 10 km to the western part of the town of Chiquimula.
