Sandspring Resources has reported further infill drilling results of 2011 from the Toroparu gold deposit in South America.
Plan View of Drill Hole Locations TPD 275-284
Holes from TPD 275-285 have shown a further diamond core drilling of 5,167 m in the Toroparu Deposit region’s Main East zone. The company has received the results from 65,833 m of drilling.
The company has intersected 1.44 g/t gold over 124.5 m in the hole TPD 278, 0.15% copper and 1.83 g/t gold over 127.5 m, 0.35% copper and 4.07 g/t gold over 19.5m in the hole TPD 280A , 1.39 g/t gold and 0.09% copper over 43.5 m, 1.01 g/t gold over 88.5 m in the hole TPD 282, 1.1 g/t gold over 103.5 m in the hole TPD 283 .
The current infill drilling is offering positive assay results. The holes TPD278 and 283 that were drilled along the strike are continuing to show the high-grade mineralization continuity at depth. The company has drilled the remaining infill holes TPD275, 276, 277, 279, 281, 282, 284 and 285 in the Main East zone, which has several gold intercepts that developed the accuracy and quality of the resource and geological modeling. Sandspring has continued the expansion drill program in the northwest and southeast part of the Main Toroparu Deposit region.
Geochem sampling program has developed the regional grid that was intended to examine the potential of gold across a survey region that enclosed approximately 270 sq. km. mineral concession of the company, wherein many potential litho-structural and lithological characteristics have been outlined by previous aerial geophysical and tele-detection work. The obtained results of the 4,000 samples have shown multiple gold anomalous zones. The company is conducting systematic infill line sampling at the anomalous regions. The infill sampling results may possibly form many fresh target zones for the reconnaissance drill program.
Currently, the company has contracted the primary reverse circulation (RC) drilling rig, which may be serviced during early January. This drill rig will speed up the exploration drill campaign near the Toroparu deposit and also over the geochemical anomalies discovered by the 2011 regional geochemical mapping and sampling campaign.
