Castle Peak Mining Releases Final Drilling Results from Apankrah Target

Castle Peak Mining has announced the final drilling results from the 2011 Phase I drilling evaluation conducted at Apankrah target on December 20, 2011.

The company encountered 3.3 g/t gold over 16 m in the final drill hole of the phase I program from the Nkwanta concession’s Apankrah target. It intersected 0.5 g/t gold over 14 m in the hole POWDDH005, 0.3 g/t gold over 17.8 m POWDDH006 and 1.8 g/t gold over 1.5 m in the hole POWDDH007 from the seven hole Dansuom target.

The company drilled the final hole, NKDDH016, at the Apankrah structure and encountered 12.5 g/t gold over 4 m and 3.3 g/t gold over 16 m. These drill results have validated the occurrence of high-grade shoots on the ENE trending shear structures in the metavolcanic rock package. Further drilling has been planned to commence the delineation of a high-grade resource potential. The company identified sulphide haloes towards the high-grade zones. These haloes will be explored through geophysical surveys, in order to prioritize targets on prominent analogous structures and to help in the discovery of further target structure.

Drilling completion at the Dansuom target further adds to the former intercepts of 2.9 g/t gold over 11 m, 1.0 g/t gold over 7 m and 0.5 g/t gold over 14 m from the hole POWDDH005, and 1.8 g/t gold over 1.8 m and 0.6 g/t gold over 5.3 m from the hole POWDDH007. The mineralized zone has been expanded through this drill program for a depth of 100 m and a strike of 500 m and stays exposed in every direction. A vein structure that is trending towards northeast and crossing the key Dansuom target were assessed by the hole POWDDH007, which yielded 0.6 g/t gold over 4 m. A shear zone, upon which chip sampling was conducted, encountered 0.6 g/t gold over 1 m and 0.2 g/t gold over 6 m. Further ground follow-up work will be conducted on this structure during the target generation campaign in 2012.
