Sonora Resources has announced the continuation of the underground fieldwork at the Los Amoles silver project in Mexico.
The company has planned the work campaign for analyzing the down dip expansions to the formerly discovered veins that are rich in silver. The work program examined the surface by executing a program, which included sampling of several main underground workings. Field crews, who are accessing the works frequently through the current mine shafts, have been mobilized by the program.
Previous underground mines in Mexico focused to dig the high-grade, narrow parts of the veins. According to this interpretation, the company is conducting the trenching program between and over significant veins to open the host rocks and show further non-outcropping veins.
A soil sampling is being performed in a contiguous region, having strong color anomalies. The location of the target regions is between many past works that show further mineralization potential to be found.
The property’s NI 43-101 compliant technical report validated the existence of several breccias, quartz veins, and a quartz stockwork altered volcaniclastic series. The initial target has a broad zone of 1,100 m, which includes at least 20 past works in the Mina Rosales region.
The ongoing fieldwork is a main phase towards outlining the potential vein formation before the proposed drilling campaign for 2012.
