North Springs Resources has started a drilling campaign at the Goldstar or One Arm Joe gold deposit (Goldstar property) in Arizona. The focus of the proposed campaign will be on the proven quartz vein formations, also with gold, that were previously discovered at the property. The company is expecting to start drilling in January 2012.
During the preparation for the proposed campaign, Wilcox Professional Services has been chosen by the project geologists of the Goldstar property to perform the drill program.
North Springs’ President, Harry Lappa, commented that the company is delighted about the property’s potential. He expressed his confidence in North Springs becoming a gold producing firm soon, thanks to the potential of Goldstar. Exploration and drilling will commence immediately on this project. The objective of the company is to increase the calculated reserve of 500,000 t of 0.7 oz/t of gold to a great proven resource.
Final site preparation is being done for around a week by project geologists for the planned drilling. Currently, they have completed trenching, surface sampling, mapping, assaying, and construction of road and drill pads for the proposed drilling. The original tonnage and grade calculations were confirmed depending on the previous assay results and geological information. The reserve calculations are suggested to be verified by core drilling. The company chose 15 drill sites, which were marked by GPS co-ordinates for drilling.
