Blue River Resources has obtained the mineral assay results from the Castle Copper project. The location of this project is 25 km towards the northern part of the Copper Mountain mine and 12 km towards the northern part of Princeton BC.
The preliminary drilling conducted at the project intersected mineralized copper in 8 holes out of the recovered 10 holes. The company drilled more than 12 holes, totaling 3720 ft. The area of this project extends to around 20,000 acres.
The company encountered 0.16% copper over 43 m in the hole BXR-11-4, 0.09% copper over 90 m in the hole BXR-11-7, 0.04% copper over 201 m in the hole BXR-11-9. The cut-off grade obtained currently is 0.1% copper at the adjacent Copper Mountain mine.
The Upper Triassic Nicola group’s andesitic and basaltic flows lie under the Castle project. The strike of the Nicola volcanic rocks is found in a northwest direction. The property’s middle jurrasic-age grandiorite Osprey Lake Batholith is in contact with these volcanic rocks. The property’s outcrop is confined to high ridges that lie exposed towards the Christian Creek’s northern part.
According to Griffin Jones, President of Blue River, the company is delighted to intercept mineralized copper at the Castle Copper project. The company had cut the hole BXR-11-9 to 600 ft. Consistent mineralization of porphyry-style copper is present in this hole. This forms a good base for additional drilling and exploration program in 2012.
