Granite Creek Gold declared that it had drilled 1,280 m in six holes in the fall of 2011 from three regions in the Buzzer West and Buzzer zones. The hole GC 11-74 returned excellent results with 0.008% Mo, 57.6 m of 0.237% Cu, 0.174 g/t Au and 1.5 g/t Ag.
From the south side of the Buzzer zone, at the same site, vertical hole 11-74 and angled hole11-75 were drilled. The angled hole was drilled at an angle of -55ºto the west side. In the Buzzer West zone, vertical hole 11-76 and angled hole11-77 were drilled from the same pad with the angled hole drilled at -60º to the southwest. From the same region in the Buzzer zone, holes 11-78 and 11-79 were drilled south of the initial two holes, with 11-78 drilled to the south-southwest direction at -60º and 11-79 and 11-80 drilled to the west-northwest direction at -60º.
The 2011 drilling program showed that the zone narrows and reduces in grade in this direction. The drilling program was undertaken in the Buzzer West zone to evaluate a large, more than 400 ppm copper soil anomaly and positive assays from rock fragments in the region. The anomaly was not totally explained. The results will be continually evaluated.
Along with the drilling, a number of man days of prospecting were done to study regions surrounding Rowbottom and the Mohawk showings. Historic report review obtained from Great Quest Metals, the property vendor to the Company, has shown an unpublished report on a previously unidentified mineralization zone situated around 500 m southwest of the Rowbottom showing. This new showing has been called the Rowtop. The Rowtop showing comprises a series of narrow lead-zinc-silver stringers present in a rhyolitic tuff.
