La Ronge Gold, a Canada-based gold exploration company has begun the drilling program at the Preview SW gold deposit, which is situated in North Saskatchewan. Drilling at the deposit has been specifically designed to bring the previous resources to the present standards of NI 43-101 and to extend the mineralized zones at depth and along strike.
The Preview deposit has 493,690 t of historical resource grading 12.34 g/t gold. During 1986-1989, drilling of 14,119 m, totaling 89 diamond drill holes, was conducted at 15 m centres into the deposit. The assay results of the ongoing drilling program will be reported.
The company has purchased 41 claims enclosing 52,932 ha that cover a strike of 97 km length in the La Ronge gold belt, including the claims staked independently and the claims that have been optioned. Two historic gold deposits are present, including several gold showings along the La Ronge belt and the Preview SW deposit.
According to Rasool Mohammad, President of La Ronge Gold, the company stands out due to the presence of huge land holdings and the ability to add extensive resources of gold to the assets. La Ronge has planned to change the two deposits, which were drilled early, to NI 43-101 standards, and conduct drill testing program for the gold targets in the fresh areas.
