Nevada Gold Corp. has restarted production at its Nevada mine. The Jerrit Canyon gold mining operation in the state had been shut down for installation of new equipment and other maintenance issues since January 6, 2012.
The mining company said that it had finished replacing the ore dryer and also made some changes to its fine crushing operation in the downtime it took for maintenance. The Vancouver based company added that the gold production was resumed on January 25, 2012 and the first shipment went out on Jan 31, 2012.
The production at the Jerrit Canyon gold mine is likely to average 3,300 tons a day as per Yukon Nevada Gold Corp. they have estimated a production of 9,000 ounces of gold for the month of February and hope to ramp it up to 3,900 tons a day leading to 12,500 ounces of gold in the month of March.
Yukon-Nevada holds a diverse portfolio of gold, silver, zinc and copper properties in the Yukon Territory and British Columbia in Canada and in Nevada in the United States. The shares of the company on the Toronto Stock Exchange closed at 30.5 Canadian cents on Friday.
