Metals Creek Resources has declared the assay results of surface grab samples collected from its trenching program on the Stocker and Boot n Hammer zones on its Jackson's Arm property located in Newfoundland.
The property is situated on the western part of White Bay and includes 188 staked claim units. In late 2011, the company’s prospectors had identified a bunch of new silver/gold prospects in a region where very minimal work had been done. The property is located close to an exceptional infrastructure that features a power line and paved road.
In early January, backhoe trenching was performed to gain insight about the recent gold discoveries on the property. Stocker and Boot n Hammer zones were trenched and several grab samples were taken by the company. However, a comprehensive mapping and sampling program could not be performed in view of bad weather conditions. This work as well as supplementary trenching will be carried out after break-up.
During the program, about 14 surface grab samples were collected. Highlights consist of assays of up to 1232.0 g/t silver and 20.2 g/t gold from the Boot n Hammer trenches. Mining at the Stocker zone revealed a number of new quartz veins and pervasive modification over a 15x50 m area. On the whole, only 40% of the zone could be trenched due to unfavorable weather conditions. Assays from the surface grab samples taken at the Stocker zone returned values of about 14.7 g/t silver and 4.3 g/t gold.
