Consolidated Goldfields has declared the additional assay results from its reverse circulation (RC) drilling program conducted at the Cahuilla gold-silver project located in Imperial County, California.
The Cahuilla Project is an epithermal, paleo-hot springs system, wherein numerous high grade veins exist inside a wide body of dispersed gold-silver mineralization. The company drilled about 250 m southwest of the core body of gold mineralization in a region comprising scarce drill coverage. In view of the high grade silver values encountered in CAH-142 hole and high grade gold mineralization intersected in CAH-139 hole, the number of drilling holes specified to this region will be increased, as this region warrants more attention because only limited drilling has been done so far.
The silver and gold mineralization remains exposed to the south, east, north, and at depth, with respect to the CAH-142 hole. The CAH-139 hole is located roughly 160 m west of CAH-142 hole and remains exposed to the south, west, north, and at depth. Based on past drilling results, the company expects extensive intercepts of lower grade gold mineralization in this region. However, the high grade silver and gold mineralization signifies the identification of mineralized zones or new veins that will need more drill testing.
Inspectorate Laboratory in Reno, Nevada is evaluating the RC samples. Consulting project geologist, Paul Stubble had collected the drill samples, which were dispatched to Inspectorate Laboratory for analysis.
The higher grade gold intercepts in CAH-142 hole comprise considerable silver values, including 493.3 g from 128.0 to 137.2 m and 213.6 g from 103.6 to 112.8 m, including 983 g silver and 1.5 m of 4.45 g gold from 135.6 to 137.1 m.
The main goal of the drilling program is to extend the identified silver and gold outlined by past drilling program and also to explore further high grade veins.
