Lakeside Minerals Commences Winter Ground Geophysical Program at Dufay Property

Lakeside Minerals has announced the field sampling results from Dufay property in Northwest Quebec. Also, a winter ground geophysical exploration has commenced at the property.

The company conducted sampling program at the property during late summer and early fall of 2011. This initial program aimed to sample the mineralized sulphide-quartz veins’ outcrops and the nearby intrusive and country rock units. The company sent the grab rock samples for multi-element testing and gold assay.

Lakeside received encouraging sampling results from sulphide-quartz veins specifically Vein 1 that has more coarsely dispersed chalcopyrite. It gathered 13 grab samples from Vein 1 over 350 m of strike and tested 0.111 to 1.445 ppm of gold and 849 ppm to 7.66% of copper. High values of bismuth and silver of up to 407 ppm and 21.50 ppm, respectively, are shown in these samples.

Anomalous values of gold that range from 0.024 to 0.146 ppm of gold are shown in four granite samples along with trace of low dispersed sulphides. This type of mineralization is assessed and confirmed through additional work.

The primary results of sampling are positive. The two goals met by these results are, firstly, the confirmation of copper and gold results from the previous drill program and sulphide-quartz vein sampling, and secondly, these results have suggested the existence of low-grade of mineralized gold related to dispersed sulphides in intrusive units and authenticate the deployment of porphyry copper-gold model to the property.

A spring outcrop stripping, a winter ground geophysical program and systematic geochemical sampling program are included in the proposed follow-up work in order to outline 2012 summer drilling targets.

The company has engaged Quebec-based Abitibi Geophysics to conduct a ground geophysical program that includes 40 line-km of magnetic and induced polarization (IP) surveys.
