Focus Gold Identifies Potential Drill Targets on Huicicila Porphyry Project in Mexico

Focus Gold declared that it has discovered potential drill targets on its historic vein targets and porphyry disseminated project in the Huicicila project region in Nayarit, Mexico.

Based on positive channel samples, two drill targets within the porphyry region have been discovered. They include samples 1815 to 1818: channel sample of 9 m with 6.5 gpt gold and 3% copper, and samples 1829 to 1845: channel sample of 30 m with 3.1 gpt gold and 240 ppm copper. These drill targets exits close to the diatreme breccia, which was discovered in previous exploration geologic mapping of the property. A porphyry gold-copper system has been observed in other targets within the project region.

Based on encouraging sample results, a number of drill targets have been discovered within the vein targets on the property. They include samples HM-025 to HM-034: vein channel sample of 24 m with 7.95 gpt gold and 200 ppm copper in In Miravalles Vein, samples VCH-1 to VCH-2: vein channel sample of 4 m with 5.1 gpt gold and 232 ppm copper in La Chabela Vein, and samples JP-01 to JP 03: vein channel sample of 9 m with 7.28 gpt gold and 233 ppm copper in Jaltepec Vein. The vein sample thicknesses do not signify actual thickness, and rock chip sampling across veins produces constantly anomalous outcomes with up to 5% copper, 62 gpt gold, and 2,000 gpt silver.

Drill targets at the historic veins include a drill hole number 3 intersecting beneath the Miravalles vein and has 3.2 m of 21 gpt gold and 120 gpt silver plus a 1.2 m interval of 62 gpt gold. The company intends to twin this hole to validate the high grade and then drill step-out along the vein’s length. Program’ success may add to the prior indicated resource of 45,000 oz of gold.

A 2 m channel sample ran 150 gpt silver, 12 gpt gold 670 ppm copper at the Tres Estrellas vein. This sample does not signify an actual thickness. A strike length of 1000 m and adit development of 50 m were observed in the vein. The planned drilling campaign would examine further areas of high grade mineralization in the vein’s strike.

Chip samples of the San Francisco vein revealed up to 22 gpt gold in a geological setting, which is akin to the Miravalles Vein. The drilling campaign will check for high grade mineralization zones in the vein structure.
