Tao Minerals has announced that it will begin a detailed trenching program at the El Colmillo gold project, based on the encouraging sample results of gold that are recorded in LatAm Resources’ independent geologic report.
The independent SGS laboratory located in Peru tested 14 samples and encountered potential gold in all 14 samples, together with many significant showings of gold concentrations for up to 128.61 g/t. The company’s planned trenching program will examine the veins’ true length, which is now found in the El Colmillo concession, in order to accurately outline the drill targets with low risk.
The company will explore a trench of each 100 m, which follows the strike of the seven veins. It inferred that the length for every vein located in the concession is 1500 m. Hence, 15 trenches need to be opened in every vein. The company will additionally open the previous artisanal mining tunnels, which are situated in the concession. Tao will conduct a systematic sampling in these tunnels and trenches for identifying the optimal drill target areas.
The location of the El Colmillo project is in the northern part of Antioquia State, which forms a part of the Bajo Cauca Mining District (DMBC) and encloses a total land area of 294 ha in one mining concession (MC) 6927. The municipalities present in the DMBC have been known for their long association with gold mining, including both alluvial and underground.
