Riverside Resources, with its associate Mexigold, has reported the completion of the drill program at Pedernal and Catrina located at Durango in Mexico.
The program comprised seven diamond drill holes at Pedernal project and six diamond drill holes at Catrina project covering 1549.40 m and 1615.40 m of area respectively. Pedernal project is waiting for results and Catrina project results have been obtained.
The drill holes of Pedernal were intended to analyze the surface rock-chip and perform gold assays on the Ranchito, Tablones and Milpa quartz vein zones. The samples from Pedernal are under analysis. The core examination of the mineral zones denotes the presence of various quantities of chlorite, hematite, calcite, pyrite and quartz. An intense epithermal system has been observed through the vein texture in Pedernal. The strike length of four main zones in the region is about 12 km together and 3.5 km separately. The strike length is not yet finalized as the shallow mineral alluvial area is yet to be analyzed. Pedernal is situated 20 km west from Penoles Mining District and 50 km from WSW of Catrina.
From six target regions of Catrina, two were given higher importance, especially Catrina-La Dura target region was concentrated more. The target region had a length of 1400m and width of 500m. Presence of mercury and arsenic, the indicating elements, were detected in the region. The results did not show the presence of silver or gold. The amount of As and Hg were higher in four of the five drill holes including CA-11-02 to CA-11-06, at a depth of 20 to 96 m. This shows that mineralization is stronger at deep Catrina-La Dura region.
The results received from Catrina project have intensified the drilling program in Catrina-La Dura region. Additionally, Bordo, Jaspe, Patos and Palmitos will be targeted for mercury, arsenic, silver and gold anomalies and high ground-magnetic anomalies. These targets contain resistive bodies and polarization geophysics conductors that are been induced. Hence, further drilling can be performed on these targets.
The total property area is 14814 ha and only around 10% of the area has been analyzed at Catrina.
