International Enexco has reported further results from the current drill program at the Contact Copper project, which is located in Nevada.
The company intersected 0.40% copper over 95 ft in hole ENR-15, 0.48% copper over 70 ft in hole ENR-26, 0.24% copper over 170 ft in hole ENR-27 and 0.31% copper over 110 ft in hole ENR-30.
The ongoing drilling program started during November 2011, using two contract drilling rigs. The company planned a 20,000 ft drilling program in order to upgrade resources and examine the exploration capability towards the eastern part of the present reserve base. The program increased the drilling to 40,000 ft, based on the obtained results. The company has drilled 11 core holes, 58 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 34,675 ft if drill program. It has completed the program’s RC portion and has not demobilized the RC drilling rig from the site.
Drilling at the project has discovered an oxide copper mineralization zone that expands towards the east from the present reserve base over a length of 3,000 ft. The zone occurs in granodiorite intrusive rocks and is not open at the easternmost end. The mineralized zone seems to lie analogous to the oxide zones present towards the west, and has been analyzed to be a tabular zone, which dips towards the southern part.
The results announced are RC holes, which were drilled to 500 ft, and drilled northwards. SGS Minerals Services prepared and tested the samples from the project’s drill program.
