Clifton Star Resources has declared the first assay results of the 2012 drill program executed at the Duparquet Project situated at Abitibi region in Quebec.
In-depth drilling was performed on the North Zone of the Donchester and Beattie properties. At present, two drills are currently operating on the properties.
Seven drill holes have been completed during the period January to mid March of 2012. Six extension drill holes and one new hole from the surface were drilled for 4905.2 m totally, which includes reaming of historical holes for 2,402 m and new core drilling in the extended holes for 2503.2 m.
Presently, partial or total results have been received for five holes. Hole BD10-160ext showed 3.16 g/t Au grading at a depth of 18 m, hole BD10-172ext showed 2.37 g/t Au grading at a depth of 7 m, hole BD12-01 showed 2.69 g/t Au grading at a depth of 8.3 m, hole DON10-44ext showed 1.55 g/t Au grading at a depth of 11.1 m and hole DON10-52ext showed 1.35 g/t Au grading at a depth of 12.5 m.
The results show the presence of considerable gold mineralization in the deep North Zone, which has a width of 80 m and strike length of 2.6 km. The zone has been analyzed between 350 m and 650 m vertical depths for mineralization and for the presence of high-grade lenses. In future, the lenses will be analyzed at depth.
Drilling will be continued for extension of the existing holes, where mineralization ended or stopped. Drilling will be continued on Central Duparquet, Dumico, Donchester and Beattie properties till the year end, which will provide a better understanding of the mineralization limits in the properties.
