Choice Gold has reported the latest results from the phase 1B drill program conducted at the Sugarloaf Peak gold project in Southwest Arizona.
The phase 1B program included 13 reverse circulation (RC) holes, the last seven hole results including the hole SGR-12-13. Currently, the central mineralized zone has expanded a strike for more than 1.1 km along a northwest-southwest direction between the holes SGR-12-09 and SGR-12-11.
The company collared the hole in strongly argillized tuff units. The alteration is identical to the one that was observed in hole SGR-12-10, which is situated 325 m towards WNW of the hole SGR-12-13. Choice Gold encountered 0.44 g/t gold over 93.0 m, 0.53 g/t gold over 21.3 m and 0.51 g/t gold over 33.5 m in the hole SGR-12-13.
The holes from SGR-12-14 to SGR-12-19 were not situated inside the area of mineralization, wherein analyzing the surface rock gold anomalies has not returned drill hole intervals in considerable widths. The phase 1B drill program included 13 RC holes that examined the previously popular central mineralised region and new areas located towards the west, south-east and south.
The known mineralized region has a calculated projection of surface that encloses 0.33 sq. km of a wider surface anomalous zone outlined through grab samples that yielded gold more than 100 ppb. The company will plan for the next drilling stage, based on the new results, together with a highlight in identifying the expansions and outlining the central mineralized area in the wide anomalous zone’s limits.
