Manitou Gold has reported assay results of the final 14 diamond drill holes out of 26 holes drilled during the winter program carried out at the Kenwest property in Northwest Ontario. The focus of the winter drilling was to assess the #1 and #2 shear zones existing along a low ground section, which can be accessed only in the winter months.
Currently, the company has defined a gold mineralization zone, whose length is 275 m and vertical depth is around 100 m, depending on this drill results along with former programs conducted during summer season. The mineralization stays exposed at depth and additional validation is needed for this mineralization to find its full vertical level.
The company encountered 2.2 g/t gold over 5.4 m in drill hole KW-12-91, 2.0 g/t gold over 5.4 m in drill hole KW-12-92, 1.0 g/t gold over 4.8 m in drill hole KW-12-96, 5.6 g/t gold over 3.5 m in drill hole KW-12-98, 1.4 g/t gold over 8.5 m in drill hole KW-12-100 and 7.0 g/t gold over 1.8 m in drill hole KW-12-101, located in #1 Shear. Manitou has carried out drilling in the low region, wherein several holes encountered considerable values of gold.
Manitou will examine this new mineralized gold zone’s down plunge continuity, wherein step out holes are located out of the low ground region, in the future summer exploration campaign. The company has discovered several discrete gold mineralization shoots, in which two shoots are positioned along the #1 Shear. The previous mining carried out at the Big Master #1 shaft shows a third shoot.
