Xtierra Receives Approval to Conduct Infill Drilling at Bilbao Deposit

Xtierra, a Toronto-based exploration and development company, reported that it has obtained a regulatory approval for a 2,000 m of infill drill program at the main Bilbao deposit.

The company has commissioned down-the-hole electromagnetic (DHEM) testing of sulphides and an additional five holes, drilled previously. The DHEM testing will attempt to offer a potential geological "signature" that may help to look out for possible depth and lateral expansions to the deposit. The company has mobilized a drill contractor to the project location.

The possibility of discovering further mineralized bodies at the Bilbao property is considered to be an excellent prospect. The existence of stacked mineralization lenses in sediments near to the La Blanca granodiorite contact indicates that analogous may be present along the contact. An exploration work has been conducted in and around the areas of Bilbao deposit and also in other mineral claims, as part of the present feasibility study and the Bilbao development plan.

Xtierra’s latest exploration has targeted the Bilbao project’s south portion in order to examine two types of targets that are rich in silver and located immediately towards the deposit’s southern part. High-angle hydrothermal veins, brecciated limestone horizons and more massive stratiform are present in these targets, containing high-grade silver. The company discovered six individual mineralized fault-fillings and veins during the drill program carried out in June and July, 2011. Four mineralized fault structures, trending towards NNW-SSE, have strong values of base metal. Another two veins striking towards NNE-SSW have returned up to 664 g/t of silver.

The company completed 5-hole drilling program during April 2012 and the program has validated the argentiferous breccia zone’s down dip continuity for additional 100 m, towards the south.
