Western Pacific Resources Obtains Plan of Operation Permit for Mineral Gulch Project

Western Pacific Resources, a gold exploration company, has declared that its Mineral Gulch project has obtained the Plan of Operation permit from the Idaho Forest Service.

The validity of the expanded drilling permit is for five years. By this permit, the company has received permission to drill in areas it was not able to drill using last year’s program.

The President of Western Pacific, Eric Saderholm, expressed the company’s gratitude to the Forest Service for its assistance in the drilling permit approval. It is delighted about this 2012 drilling campaign, as the company can concentrate on several targets. Western Pacific has considered this phase to be significant as its strives to discover its flagship property, Saderholm stated.

The company will announce the plans for its drilling program at the earliest. As the company in the process of selecting its high-priority targets, it is currently reviewing historic and geophysical information, obtained recently.

The Mineral Gulch project lies in Cassia County, Idaho, and along the southeastern boundary of the Black Pine Mountains, which is around 128 km towards the southeastern part of Burley in Idaho. The company acquired 100% control of the project through staking.

The project includes the previous Black Pine Mining District and its nearby ground for exploration. The company has purchased the property’s historically owned data from Pegasus Mining and Newmont Mining.

Explorations were carried out by Noranda at the Black Pine between 1984 and 1990. Pegasus and Noranda signed a joint venture during 1990. More than 500,000 oz of gold was encountered in the Black Pine property. Shallow and oxidized ore bodies have been the focus of historic mining and exploration efforts.
