Victory Ventures, a junior mining exploration company based in Canada, has reported that North Vancouver-based Frontier Geosciences will commence the work program at the company’s Copau claims, located in Northwest British Columbia.
This program includes an induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey and is expected to begin on June 20, 2012. The company will conduct the work program on around 12 lines on 100 to 200 m centers for a total span of 10 line kilometers.
Imperial Metals’ claims have partly enclosed the Copau claims and this company is developing the Red Chris deposit to produce copper from around 11 km towards the southern part. The aim of the production project of Imperial Metals is to match together with the Northwest Transmission Line completion by early 2014.
Exploration of the claims was carried out in the past. The BC Geological Survey conducted mapping during 1994 and resulted in the B31 copper discovery, which has chalcopyrite, magnetite and low pyrite nearby cataclastic microstructures and fractures in a small syenitic stock. An optioner conducted a magnetometer survey and defined a popular magnetic anomaly, which trends towards the northwest part from the copper showing. The undrilled property has potential for alkalic copper gold porphyry or skarn, which contains mineralized gold and copper.
The company is focusing on the procurement, exploration and expansion of precious metal properties located in North America.
