Focus Graphite has declared that it has commenced its 2012 exploration and infill drill campaign at the Lac Knife graphite property in Quebec.
The company has planned to carry out infill drilling for approximately 5,000 m and has aimed to upgrade the current inferred resource to indicated resource. It also intends to conduct further 2,500 m exploration drilling in order to examine several target areas at the Lac Knife property, which includes deposit’s lateral expansions.
Focus will utilize the 5,000 m program results in order to modify and upgrade the 4.9 Mt at 15.8% Carbon as graphite (Cgr) indicated and 3.0 Mt at 15.6% Cgr inferred NI 43-101 compliant resource calculation of December 2011.
The 2,500 m exploration drilling will specifically examine high-priority surface graphite prospects that were discovered from the previous data and geophysical EM anomalies in the deposit’s lateral expansion towards the south.
Focus Graphite’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Gary Economo stated that depending on the previous exploration data, it has been clearly shown that the property may contain huge volumes of graphite than the present deposit.
According to Economo, Lac Knife deposit stays exposed at depth and in every direction and the drill program may allow the company to update its resource calculation by the end of the program.
