Victory Resources has reported that the second and final phase of the drilling program has been completed at the Altamira tailings pond, which is situated at the Reforma mine.
The company carried out the drilling program at the Altamira and the Matanza, which are two tailings ponds. It drilled 46 holes, totaling 291 m on the Matanza tailings pond, and drilled 10 holes, totaling 38 m on the Altamira tailings pond.
Currently, a representation bulk sample is being prepared from these tailings ponds and will be submitted for metallurgical tests and mineralogical studies in order to identify the feasibility for material re-processing.
At the Reforma mine, earlier production involved the recovery by floatation of sphalerite, galena and chalcopyrite. The company recovered considerable values of silver from 10 g to more than 250 g, along with sulphides. Less amount of gold was recovered. Victory Resources did not recover any magnetite that included a considerable amount of the ore.
According to Victory’s CEO and President, Wally Boguski, the drill program completion at the tailings ponds is a significant milestone in finding the future economic potential.
The company focuses mainly on the Reforma property, which encloses an area of 7,226 ha. It has commenced exploration at the Au-Wen property in British Columbia. This property is situated 30 km towards the southeast part of Merritt and 8 km towards the eastern part of the previous Aspen Grove mining camp located in south-central British Columbia in Canada. It includes 91 mineral claims, which enclose an area of 34,200 ha.
