NuLegacy Gold has reported that it will conduct an oxide zone development drill campaign at the Red Hills gold project in Nevada. This Red Hill project is located in the Cortez trend, near to the Goldrush discovery of Barrick Gold.
Combining the hole RHB12-006 results with a set of the gold intercepts obtained from previous drilling shows a high-grade mineralization zone that strikes in a northwest-north direction. This mineralization is exposed in every direction and its strike is typical to that identified in the Cortez trend’s main gold deposits.
Mineralization found in the Central Mineralized Zone (CMZ) is present in Devonian carbonates, and is analogous to other key deposits located in the Cortez region. The values of gold in the lower portion of hole RHB12-006 are linked to pyrite denoting that this deeper mineralization may possibly be related to gold mineralization, containing sulfide.
The company collared this drill hole for about 100 m towards the western part of the gold mineralization, which was encountered by former explorers during early 1990s. Drilling of the hole RHB12-006 served the company as a due diligence drill hole and as a significant step-out hole by extending this area of mineralization towards the western part.
NuLegacy is planning to restart the initial drill program of six holes, totaling 2,000 m.
The program is likely to begin in September, after completing the drill permit and securing a drill rig.
