Atico Mining Announces First Four Underground Hole Results from El Roble Project

Atico Mining has reported assay results from the initial four underground holes drilled at the company’s optioned El Roble project located in Colombia. Currently, the company is carrying out drilling from an extent of 2000 m in order to identify further huge sulfide bodies at depth.

According to Atico Mining’s CEO, Mr. Fernando E. Ganoza, the company is delighted with the initial underground drill hole results obtained from the El Roble project. It is discovering further high-grade mineralization lenses at depth and is observing the possibility for important additional resources at the El Roble mine. These intercepts improve the company’s knowledge on the geological model, which will be important for identifying further VMS ore bodies over the potential trend of 10 km on the property.

The company encountered 6.49% copper, 17.57 g/t gold and 13.26 g/t silver over 41 m in hole ATDHR-04, and 6.54% copper, 1.82 g/t gold and 8.22 g/t silver over 41 m in hole ATDHR-01.

The present underground drill campaign includes drilling of more than 2,000 m, totaling 16 diamond holes, which are portion of the nearfield mine-vicinity campaign that will assess for further huge high-grade sulfide bodies beneath and lateral to the current mine works. The initial four drill holes confirmed the presence of mineralization identified beneath the 2,000 m level at El Roble mine.

Atico has engaged Crone Geophysics and Exploration to carry out down-hole pulse EM surveys on the underground drill holes in order to discover conductive target areas. Textures found in the drill holes, ATDHR-01 and ATDHR-04, show that the 2000 m level is proximal to the interface found between the stockwork feeder zone and mound huge sulfide mineralization.

The holes ATDHR-01 and ATDHR-02 were specifically drilled from the same platform. The hole ATDHR-02 potentially intersected the border of the huge sulfide body encountered by hole ATDHR-01.
