Handeni Gold has announced an update about the exploration work carried out at the 800 km2 Handeni property located in the United Republic of Tanzania.
Currently, the company is focusing to upgrade its discovered target areas found on the four prospecting licenses (PLs) to drill target status. The company’s primary focus is on the 200km2 enclosed by PL6743.
Hand-held X-Ray fluorescence (XRF) now analyzes 5050 soil samples taken from target areas located in PL6743 and these samples were prepared to submit to assay laboratories. The company is conducting a soil sampling campaign along with the Tanzanian geological survey on Target 6.
The company obtained positive results of the soil sampling campaign performed on Target 5, together with up to 200 ppb of gold in soil values. The geochemical target is in line with an electro-magnetic and magnetic geophysical anomaly that was conducted on surface over a region of about 1.8 x 900 m. The anomalous gold zone clearly dips from east towards southeast, as part of a huge fold structure. High gold values match with topographic highs. Ground induced polarization (IP), trenching and pitting will continue the appraisal of this target area.
Handeni is advancing the assessment of the "alluvial" gold prospective. Drilling of three reverse circulation (RC) holes for water gave a solution to the constant issue of water shortage. The wells currently provide the washing and separation works together with a sustainable 15000 l per hour from two holes that are not being used. The company has completed about 32% of trenching, pitting and separation on the region targeted to assess for a possible alluvial gold operation.
