Standard Graphite has started the drill program at the Mousseau east property and intends to conduct a 3000 m diamond drill campaign in order to qualify and extend the historical resource and explore for further prospective resources in the project.
Ontario-based P&E Mining Consultants and Quebec-based MRB & Associates (MRB) have been contracted by the company to generate a NI 43-101 compliant resource calculation for the flagship Mousseau East property, depending on the historical work. A diamond drill campaign has been specifically designed to reproduce several historical drill holes placed on the main zone in order to evaluate former results. Under MRB’s supervision, the preparation and implementation of the drill program operations, which include core logging and sampling, will be conducted.
Based on the information assessed by MRB during the drill stage, P&E will complete the calculation of resource estimate and the graphite zones modeling. Additionally, the company is planning for further diamond drill program outside the main zone that is focused on extending the historical resource at depth and along strike.
Earlier work performed in the diamond drill campaigns has indicated that the resource stayed exposed at depth and also in all directions. The drill holes have been intended to intercepted the expansion of the present mineralization at near-surface depths. The program will be terminated by testing some extra target areas that have been emphasized during the aerial geophysical survey and now being examined on surface.
Between 1989 and 1993, Graphicor conducted systematic exploration and EM geophysical surveys along cut grids, and definition drilling and exploration programs, resulting in resource calculations.
