ABM Resources has provided an update on its exploration activities carried out from prospects extending to its Old Pirate high-grade gold project, which is situated in the Twin Bonanza Gold Camp, Northern Territory of Australia.
According to ABM Resources’ Managing Director, Darren Holden, the company’s exploration work is ongoing. ABM has found another fresh prospect having high-grade of visible gold which is quite encouraging, and the broadening of the Golden Hind prospect footprint holds potential for an important discovery.
The company has discovered additional high-grade veins near the key Golden Hind vein. New results from surface sampling program have yielded gold of up to 126 g/t from sheeted quartz veins found at the main vein’s footwall and up to 404 g/t from the main Golden Hind vein’s northwestern expansions. The potential zone of the Golden Hind project is extended through these veins towards a surface of about 15 m width and over 60 m along strike.
The drill program has begun at the Golden Hind prospect. The company drilled the initial five holes in order to find the veins orientation. Geological logging has shown that the vein system of the Golden Hind prospect is sharply dipping towards the southwestern part. The company has noticed closely spaced vein zones with over drilled thickness of up to 30 m. It has not identified the grade and thickness of the mineralized gold yet, though visible gold has been observed in hole GHRC100001. Samples are yet to be assayed. Additional 25 holes have been planned to examine the continuity of grades and levels of the Golden Hind prospect.
The Old Glory prospect is a fresh high-grade prospect having surface visible gold and is situated about 250 m towards the northern part of the Golden Hind discovery and 500 m towards Old Pirate’s southern part. The new outcropping high-grade gold discovered at the prospect has encouraged ABM to carry out additional sampling to outcrop quartz veins towards the Old Pirate prospect’s southern part.
