Sarama Resources’ Geochemical Survey Outlines Gold-in-Soil Anomaly at Cape Mount Property

Sarama Resources has announced that the geochemical surveys have outlined a 9 km long gold-in-soil anomaly at the Cape Mount exploration property located in Western Liberia. This anomaly is located adjacent to the New Liberty gold project. Additionally, the company has increased its interest to 50% in the Pedsam properties, Liberia.

The company has obtained assay results from about 75% of a soil geochemical survey carried out at the Cape Mount property during late 2011 and 2012. A 400 x 50 m spaced principal sample grid was specifically utilized for the surveys. The company is sampling many regions at a higher density, after discovering these areas as high-priority targets depending on occurrence of artisanal mining work, aerial geophysical results and structural setting.

A gold-in-soil anomaly, measuring 9 km in length, was discovered at the property’s southern part through the survey. In addition, the anomalous zone is in line with numerous geologically potential features, which were discovered through the 2012 aerial geophysical survey. Aureus Mining’s New Liberty gold project lies roughly 10 km towards the Cape Mount’s southeastern part. Similarities were analyzed in the two properties’ aerial magnetic signatures and proved encouraging for the Cape Mount prospective to contain significant gold mineralization.

The 95th percentile of assays has widely outlined the anomalous zone. Numerous regions, having length and thickness of up to 2 km and 400 m, in this zone are outlined by high values of gold-in-soil. The company is waiting for about 25% of the assays from the survey. Trenching program has been started over specific regions within the trend found at the Cape Mount property, with an intention to outline drill target areas.

The company began an identical geochemical survey at the Gbarpolu property during 2012 and has partly completed the survey together with assay results obtained for about 20% of the surveyed region. It has assayed only a minimum amount of the samples from the property. The results obtained from the property’s southern portion discovered a high gold-in-soil content area. The spatial distribution of the assay results for this region is not adequate to specifically outline distinct anomalous zones.

Sarama is anticipating the remaining assay results from the two properties in the coming months and is intending to re-start field work in the future exploration season, with a preliminary focus on the main anomalous zones.
