EXPLORATION KHALKOS. ("Khalkos") The management of Khalkos announces the results of the re-sampling of previous drill cores from the Malartic property. The technical team of Khalkos was able to localize, recover and log fifteen NQ calibers drill holes, totalizing 2,001 metres, undertaken in 2007 by the operator of that time. Khalkos was also able to retrace the assays results of these drill holes that were never disclosed before.
The examination of the drill cores confirmed the presence of shear zones ranging from 5 to 30 metres in thickness containing auriferous, pyrite and pyrrhotite, mineralized quartz veinlets. The new sampling allowed the validation of the previously reported grades on the gold zones of the property. Grades varying between 1.5 g/t Au over 1.5 m; 1.73 g/t Au over 2 m and up to 5.48 g/t over 1 m and 5.69 g/t over 1 m were validated in four different drill holes.
Robert Gagnon, President of the Company, stated : "This program confirmed soundly the position of the geological units and the grade of the mineralized zones. It increased the confidence that Khalkos have in the potential of development of the Malartic property. Plus, Khalkos confirms its intention to become a major player in the Malartic mining camp."
The shear zones were re-sampled and assayed for comparison purposes with the previous results to allow reconciliation of the proposed geological model on the property. In addition, the drill core collars, left at the site, were identified, localized and surveyed, all this in order to validate the position of different geological units and the mineralized gold zones.
The samples were submitted to standard procedures of quality of control and the geological data were validated by Robert Gagnon, geologist, Qualified Person pursuant to National Instrument 43-101.
