An Update on Exploration Activities at Gold Lion Resources’ Fairview Property

Gold Lion Resources Inc. offered an update on its road-accessible 2,574-hectare Cu-Ag-Zn Fairview Property, situated in the Kamloops Mining Division of British Columbia, about 45 km west of the City of Kamloops and 22 km east of the City of Cache Creek.

Previous exploration work on the property in the 1940s has identified several exhibits within the property boundaries, including the Fairview, P&L, Quinto, and Quinto III minfiles.

The property is situated within the Central Volcanic Facies of the Nicola Group, a narrow strip of alkaline volcanic and subvolcanic intrusive rocks, which host several alkalic porphyry deposits, comprising both the Copper Mountain Mine to the south and the Iron Mask Batholith (Afton, Ajax) to the east.

The claims are located close to the northern extent of the very fertile Guichon Creek Batholith—the causative intrusion for the Highland Valley Cu-Au and Craigmont Cu mines situated to the south of the Property.

Recently, Gold Lion Resources carried out a 466.09-km airborne magnetic survey over the Fairview, which revealed numerous narrow north-south oriented magnetic low lineaments considered to represent limestone units coincident with historic skarn-style mineralization on the Property.

Furthermore, three approximately concentric magnetic highs were identified, which could be associated with buried intrusions at depth. Small satellite intrusive centers, or roof pendants to the Guichon Creek Batholith, are said to spread at least as far north as the Fairview Property.

The key target for this Property is the contact zone that lies between buried intrusive centers and the Nicola Volcanic facies rocks, or limestone contacts with the same intrusive set. The magnetic products formed during the 2019 survey indicate potential zones where these contacts could occur.

Rock sampling finished by Gold Lion Resources during the 2019 field season returned exceedingly anomalous copper and zinc mineralization with results up to 1.48%, and 1.24% Cu as well as 1.78% Zn.

In advance of the 2020 exploration season, Gold Lion Resources is working to finish a complete review of all available technical data on the Property. The Company aims to carry out a follow-up exploration program on the property, which includes ground-truthing and prospecting over the major prospective zones identified by the airborne magnetic survey to produce high-priority drill targets for future programs.

QA/QC Procedures

All samples were defined, photographed, and sampled by personnel from Gold Lion Resources. Samples were sent to ALS Global’s laboratory in North Vancouver, BC for sample preparation and analysis. Sample preparation was performed by crushing the whole sample to 70% passing -2 mm, riffle splitting off 1 kg, and pulverizing the split to better than 85% passing 75 µm.

After sample preparation, the assays are primarily identified using the ME-MS41 method (Ultra Trace Aqua Regia ICP-MS), which reports results in parts per million (ppm). All analyses reaching the overlimits of ME-MS41 are reexamined with an Ore Grade technique (Cu: Cu-OG46, Zn: Zn-OG46). The analytical results are validated by using industry-standard Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QA-QC) procedures.
