Glass Earth Gold has completed two additional drill holes at the WKP West gold–silver project near Waihi in New Zealand. The company has planned to drill test the other targets during 2011 on receiving the subsequent results. Newmont Mining and Glass Earth is a joint venture of the WKP West property.
DDH WKP 27, a 200 m step-out hole in the southwest has confirmed the former considerable gold mineralization with narrow high-grade gold zones in the one ounce to two ounce gold range.
The drilling results of holes WKP 24, 25 and 26 in 2010 has insisted for additional assessment. Both Newmont and Glass Earth have confirmed that this exploration phase will offer additional extensive traits of WKP West prospect.
The latest diamond drill hole program of about 400 m-500 m length has analyzed the southerly expansions of the WKP West zone. This program also targets the contiguous area of interest found by the new ground-based CSAMT resistivity survey.
The WKP West property is a 2 km mineralized variation zone, which is just 10 km from the Waihi gold operations of Newmont and 5 km northeast side of the Golden Cross deposit. The WKP epithermal system has magnetic features that are as same as the Waihi region and is open along the strike potential for some kilometres south-westward.
