Canamex Resources has started its 2011 exploration campaign at the Bruner gold-silver project, which is situated in Nye County, Nevada.
It has acquired further 21 mining claims at the north part of the Bruner project. These recent mining claims encompass the gold-in-soil anomalies. In late 1980, Newmont identified these anomalies while they were exploring the region.
The Company along with the Bureau of Land Management and the State of Nevada has permitted the drilling of around 12 holes, 2,439 m or 8000 ft in total in federal and private land. Under the terms of the earn-in agreement, to buy an interest of 75% in the Bruner project, this drilling program will be a fulfillment of the Company's 2011 contract. The drilling will be started based on the drill rig availability and the time of receiving the permits.
Canamex has planned the drilling program to additionally analyze the large low-grade historic resource, which was informed by Miramar Mining in the 1990. Also, it will further examine the high-grade zone to the east of the low-grade resource area. In 1990, the company had cut 22 g/t silver, 15.7 g/t gold over 2.5 m during the historic drilling of the high-grade area. These high-grade intercepts are present at about 305 m east of the old Penelas mine and had encountered 46 g/t silver and 10 g/t gold from 1935 to 1942. The Bruner project has significant potential to hold large open pit gold resource and high-grade gold-silver layers.
