Concordia Resource has proclaimed that its subsidiary, Meryllion Minerals has released the confirmation sampling results of the recent exploration program at its Providencia silver-copper prospect in northwestern Argentina.
This property has silver and copper mineralization and produced 5 Moz silver historically from ore that grades between 400-500 g/t silver. Mineralization occurs in a lightly dipping, weakly united, green conglomerate unit, which is capped and floored by white sandstones and dark red mudstones respectively. The primary target of the former mining was the conglomerate unit and four shallow open pits namely north, central, south, and west were developed. Mineralization is open along the down-dip to the east and strike to both the north and south in the lightly dipping conglomerate unit.
The company has intercepted 4160 g/t silver and 3.62% copper from the channel sampling program and 657 g/t silver and 0.66% copper from the samples collected at the Green Conglomerate. In 2003, Cardero has returned 4064 g/t silver and 3.97% copper from the former channel sampling and 506 g/t silver and 0.46% copper from the member of Green Conglomerate.
Samples were shipped to ALS Chemex Laboratory in Argentina for examination. Meryllion has announced the completion of an environmental study and has obtained the documented support for its exploration activities from the two local communities. Currently, the company is preparing for a preliminary core drilling program of around 3000 m and has given the drilling contract. It may begin the drilling activities in early August.
