Highvista Gold has begun the drill program at its Canasta Dorada gold project. This project is situated in the Sonoran gold belt of Mexico. The company will drill 3,000 m, totaling 30 reverse circulation (RC) holes during the phase I program.
The Big pit, Las Quintas and the La Republicana are the three priority target areas targeted primarily by this drill program.
The field exploration work was performed for more than 12 months and created three target regions and these targets incorporated sampling and mapping of more than 30 past mines, aerial magnetic survey analysis, ASTER satellite image analysis, testing and collection of past soil sampling information, and the assessment and compilation of more than 3,200 rock chip samples.
The company is anticipating the completion of the primary drill campaign by the end of the fourth quarter of 2011.
Highvista has 100% ownership of a subsidiary of Mexican, controlling the Canasta Dorada gold project. The location of this project is in the Sonoran gold belt that is immediately contiguous to El Chanate Mine of AuRico Gold. The CEO and President of Highvista Gold, has stated that the company has commenced the drilling program soon.
