Callinex Mines has announced the assay results from the drill program performed at the Troitsa property, north British Columbia. The company has encountered 0.015 g/t gold, 0.326 % copper and 1.943 g/t silver over 82.06 m and 0.032 g/t gold, 0.662% copper and 4.003 g/t silver over 20.32 m in the hole TR11-7, which was collared in mineralization.
The company drilled eight holes, which displayed visible mineralized copper in the form of boronite and chalcopyrite. It performed the drill campaign to examine the mineralization level obtained in a channel sampling program conducted at the Main Troitsa showing during 2010. In addition, the program analyzed a geochemical anomaly outlined during the 2010 drilling campaign, an IP anomaly that is 300 m towards the northern part of the Main showing and 700 m to the main showing’s north part.
The property’s geology contains a granodiorite porphyry plug and its top was corroded by glaciation, which opened a region that has visible chalcopyrite mineralization. Channel sampling program during 2010 validated large content of copper in the Main showing and lead to additional drill testing in 2011.
Callinex Mines’ VP of Exploration, J.J. O'Donnell, commented that these positive drilling results unveil mineralization and typical alteration methods for the copper porphyry deposits in the region. The preliminary campaign has shown the wide copper mineralization and guaranteed additional work at the property.
The company performed the diamond drill program at the nearby Coles Creek property, which formerly hosted considerable gold, lead, silver and zinc mineralization, and currently found mineralization. The assay results from the 11 drill holes are pending.
